Contact Prince William Records Offices

Questions about official Prince William County criminal records belong with the office that created or maintains the requested file. Police reports, current jail status, Circuit felony cases, General District misdemeanor cases, and statewide Virginia criminal-history responses come from different custodians. The contacts below route each common request to its government source. This private reference site cannot obtain, change, certify, or file a record. Before visiting, call the office or review its official page because hours, release rules, costs, and required identification can change.

This Is Not a Government Office. This privately operated reference site cannot pull criminal records, perform an official background check, correct or remove an entry, or accept a Prince William County expungement filing.

Need an Official Record?

Choose the Prince William custodian by record type. The Prince William County Police Department is not the Prince William County Sheriff's Office, and the Prince William regional Adult Detention Center is not the court clerk. These official Prince William contacts cover the requests most often directed to the wrong office:

  • Statewide Virginia criminal-history response: Virginia State Police CARE processes the consent-based SP-167 mailed request. The online form generator prepares the paperwork, while VSP CARE at 7700 Midlothian Turnpike, North Chesterfield, VA 23235 receives the notarized form and payment.

For a Prince William town police report, contact Dumfries, Haymarket, Occoquan, or Quantico rather than PWCPD. For a trooper report tied to a Prince William event, contact Virginia State Police. Prince William court-certified copies come from the clerk that holds the case, while the ADC phone line provides only its published current-custody fields.
